Birthdays

Bonjour!

Don't you just LOVE birthdays? I do. August is a very special month for my family and I. First it's my mother's birthday August 11th, then my parent's anniversary August 18th, then my father's birthday August 26th, then my best friend's birthday August 27th, and last but not least, my birthday on August 28th! Yesterday for my father's birthday I baked him a marvelous red velvet cake. And for my friend's birthday we went out and bought her The Jonas Brothers 3D Concert Experience! Right now you're either thinking one of two things. You could be thinking, "Oh yet another teenage fanatic who screams over teenage boys", OR you could be thinking "YES I absolutely LOVE the Jonas Brothers". To me it doesn't matter what you're thinking because we're all entitled to our own opinion... right? Right. Anyway, tomorrow is my birthday and I will be turning 14! Finally! I think this year was a wonderful year and I got a lot accomplished with school, and I think I gained a lot more trust from my parents, which is always a plus when it comes to freedom and responsibility. I thought long and hard about what I wanted for my birthday and I think I came up with a reasonable list.

1) An iPhone 3GS.
Currently, I have the iPhone 3G and it has a crack and the bottom and the silent switch fell off, so I think it's time for an upgrade.

2) A new digital camera.
I had a digital camera last summer but after the first week of having it, my seven year old sister broke it..

3) To be a tourist for a day.
I live in the Tri State area and  have a lot of friends in New York City, so I visit them very often. I also worked as a young performer at the American Girl Theater (I played Keisha/Addy in the show "Circle of Friends: An American Girl Musical) at the American Girl Place in New York so that had me in and out of the city quite often. Even though I see a lot of the city I don't get to sightsee like I always want to.

I think it's a very reasonable list... is it not? I don't really want a big birthday bash because I want my parents to save money for my sweet sixteen! I want to have a reaaally big sweet sixteen! Like those girls on that show on MTV. So they can save all of my birthday money for that. As for my birthday gifts, if I don't get everything I want for my birthday I won't be upset. There's always Christmas. But sometimes that list get's very pricey. I have a funny little story to share with you guys. Last year, I had a very short christmas list. I told my parents that I didn't want much and that shopping for me should be easy. There were about five items on my list and all together it cost about... $13,000. I know you're wondering what was on the list.

1) A dog. I really wanted a dog.
2) A dishwasher. They make me wash the dishes by hand and I was really fed up with it.
3) A vaccuum cleaner. We turned the attic into my bedroom and I have carpet in my room. There's only one vaccuum cleaner so we keep it on the first floor. When it's time to vaccuum my floor I have to bring the vacuum cleaner up three flights of steps! That's not fun
4) A moped. I don't know if it's just me, but those things are pretty cool.
5) Clothes, clothes, and MORE CLOTHES!
6) 4 tickets to see Wicked the Musical on Broadway. Those tickets can get pretty pricey.

There were a couple of little things on there that I wanted such as books and other stuff, but those were the big ticket items! Out of the six listed, I got number one, and number five. All in all, it was a great christmas.

ALMOST FORGOT!

Hey everyone,

I almost forgot to tell you guys that today I start relaying some vocals on one of my favorite songs! Whoop! I'm really excited because this song is so much fun to sing. It's one of those pop rock type songs that some tweens/teens like to listen to these days. It's so much fun to rock out behind the studio mic! I can't wait to share my song with you guys!

See you soon,

Taylor Wilson

Summer Is Over

Hey everyone,

Today I realized that there are fifteen days until summer's over. Then I will be starting high school, and doing work that I really wouldn't want to do. Speaking of work that I don't want to do, my mom makes me do this program called Kumon. It's a learning center, similar to Huntington. I had to take a test in order for them to see my strengths and weaknesses. I breezed through the Reading portion, but the math portion took me 45 minutes. I believe in using calculators & I'm so used to using a calculator that I pretty much forgot how to do math on paper. I guess you can say it's sad that I'm going into ninth grade and still count on my fingers occasionally but that's not my fault! It's the school system's fault. Anyway, the Kumon instructors think I should start with the basics such as division with remainders and fractions. I sit in the Kumon center and feel so stupid because I'm going in there with little kids doing the same exact thing I'm doing, some are even doing more advanced things! Everyday, except Sunday, I have five pages of homework to do. Today to find the least common multiple of four and six. I'm insulted that they think I can't handle this stuff! It's way to simple! By the way, the answer is twelve. I'm even more offended that my mom agrees with them. So now my mom makes me sit at home and do my five workbook pages. How fun is that?! It's the perfect way for me to end my summer with a bang.

A Bit About Myself

Hey everyone,

How exciting is this?! My FIRST blog EVER. Whoop! First, I think you guys should know about a little about me. My dream is to become a professional singer. I want to become famous like every other little teen in the world who watches reality television, and watches all the red carpet events. But there's something different about me. I don't just want to be a singer... I want to be an ARTIST. A lot of people think that if you have a nice voice you'll make it in the industry. Boy are they wrong. I have a lot of family members that are involved in the industry. My uncle is a keyboardist and has played along side Beyonce, Jasmine Sullivan, and that famous group Guy from... back in the day, my dad writes songs and used to sing in the church (which really isn't in the "industry", but that's where a lot of people start), and my other uncle is a bass player and played with a couple of cool people too. So music basically runs in my blood. I currently record songs in a little studio that I have in my room. And my dad and I write songs together (kind of like Miley and Billy Ray), and we have fun and argue a lot in the process. When we're done recording songs that showcase my talent, we'll send it off to a record company who will hopefully sign me and the rest goes on. So that's enough about music. I could go on and on but you probably don't want to read about that.

So it's Summer of 2009 and this year it will be my first year of high school! Sweet Freedom! My mom says that these four years of high school will be the best four years of my life. I find that hard to believe because school didn't even start yet and she's already nagging me about getting my summer reading projects done. If she's going to keep this up, I hope that school goes by really really fast. I just got the dress code for school today in the mail and I was very disappointed. I can't wear tank tops in school. Back in middle school we were allowed to wear tank tops if they were at least three fingers wide, but now our whole shoulder has to be covered! That's not cool at all. I have two honors classes which are English and French (I'm better with languages). Math is most definitely not my forte, my mother wants me to like Science (because she's a cosmetic chemist), and History is just... boring. Speaking of ultimate boredom, I guess I should get back to my Jane Eyre project.

Live, laugh, love,

Taylor W.
